Daniel Reese, Senior Pastor, Eldridge Campus
Daniel is married to Sena and they have four kids – Addalie, Asher, River, and Ryker. They enjoy traveling and camping together as a family.
Pastor Daniel grew up in El Paso, Texas. He graduated with a degree in Bible from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. Years later he received his Master of Theology degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. In El Paso he served as a Youth and Children’s Pastor, but his true calling was to help plant churches. Daniel and Sena helped plant a church in Hamilton, Ohio in the early years of their marriage. After starting a family they decided to move back to Texas and did Apartment Ministry in Round Rock, Texas. By this time Daniel had decided pastoral Ministry was not his calling. God used a move to Lamesa, Texas to guide Daniel back into the ministry. He obeyed God’s call to pastor a small church that had all but decided to close its doors in 2012. That church was called Cornerstone Fellowship and as the church grew so did Daniel’s love for God and ministry. God brought Daniel and his family to Cornerstone Baptist Church in the Spring of 2022.

Scott Pearson, Pastor Emeritus, Eldridge Campus
Pastor Scott has been married to Beth since 1974. They met at the University of Iowa at a Campus Crusade for Christ retreat. After marriage, they moved to the Twin Cities where Scott attended Bethel Seminary and graduated with an M.Div. in 1978. Beth also earned a Master’s degree during those years.
Scott pastored Ely Baptist Church near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in NE Minnesota from 1978 until 1991. Their three daughters were born in Ely: Erika (1980), Jill (1982), and Emily (1984). Those were wonderful years raising a family and serving a loving congregation in a beautiful setting of God’s creation. The Pearson girls benefited from growing up in such a beautiful and loving environment nurtured by such a wise and devoted mother.
Scott pastored Grace Baptist Church in Tracy, CA from 1991 to 1994. Those were hard years that ended painfully. Scott learned some hard lessons from some financial failures and painful experiences and took with him to Iowa a saying that is repeated following every Communion service at Cornerstone: “I am totally accepted, fully pleasing, deeply loved, completely forgiven, and empowered to live a new life in Christ because of the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus.”
Scott and Beth and family moved back to Davenport, Iowa (where Beth grew up) in the summer of 1994 – hurting and without a job. God graciously led this “vulnerable family” to Cornerstone shortly thereafter. “After great pain, a new life emerges.” The Pearsons have thrived at Cornerstone and in the North Scott area and are grateful for God’s abundant blessings.
The Pearsons have three daughters and 16 grandchildren, ages 12 and under. Erika and her husband, Kyle, live in Arvada, CO, where Kyle is Lead Pastor of Revive Church. They have six children. Jill and her husband, Peter, live in Hayward, WI, where Peter works remotely as an engineer for John Deere. They have five children. Emily and her husband, Mike (Mo), live in Ames, where Mo is a CrossFit trainer and Real Estate Agent. They have five children.

Mark Zevenbergen, Dewitt Campus Pastor
Pastor Mark & Andrea are originally from Oregon where they began dating the last term of their senior year at the University of Oregon. After getting married in 1993, they moved to Chicago where Mark attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. Following graduation with an MDiv, they moved to Iowa and have been serving at Cornerstone since 1998. Mark served as the Associate Pastor until 2013, when he and Andrea planted the campus in DeWitt. Since 2013, he has been ministering as the Campus Pastor. Mark & Andrea are thankful to be part of the Cornerstone family that celebrates people coming to Christ and loves to serve their communities.
Mark & Andrea are blessed with three children-Jackson, Mac and Lynden and a silver Lab named Cascade. Mark values getting away with his family on regular vacations. He loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking, camping and fishing. He is a life-long learner and an Apple enthusiast.

Drew Webb, Worship Pastor, Eldridge Campus
Pastor Drew has been married to his wonderful wife, Luvy Ann, for more than 20 years. They have 2 children, Aria and Micah, who have both surpassed their mother in height!
Pastor Drew received his B.A. in Intercultural Communication at California State University-Sacramento, CA. A few years later he began his Seminary work and graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (located in one of the most beautiful places in the world!) with a Masters of Divinity. He had begun serving as a volunteer worship leader in 2000 when his father started a new church and needed a worship leader. That opportunity greatly influenced Pastor Drew and gave him much valuable experience.
After 10 years of service to First Family Church God moved Drew to Cornerstone Baptist Church. He and his family arrived here in Eldridge, Iowa on February 2nd, 2011, the day after the largest single snow storm in Iowa history.
Drew’s hobbies are hiking, music, cycling, and CrossFit. Cycling is the form of exercise he enjoys most as it gets him in the outdoors and provides opportunities to commune with God out in His creation; however, it is CrossFit that gets the bulk of Drew’s exercise time these days and helps him stay active.
Drew’s passion is to help people experience God. This happens in the music that is played and sung on the platform of Cornerstone, as well as in the preaching of sermons or teaching classes. Helping people know God and worship Him with all that they are is of the utmost importance to Pastor Drew and is at the heart of his ministry philosophy.

Paul Hovey, Discipleship Pastor, Eldridge Campus

Jacob Hayword, Worship Leader, DeWitt Campus
Jacob and his wife Caitlin moved into the DeWitt community in 2014, found Cornerstone – DeWitt, and soon made it their church family. Since then, they’ve added three joy-filled kids to their own family, Miles, Merrick, and Gemma.
Jacob started to see how God was molding him for serving the church when he saw how his enjoyment of singing and playing instruments could help fulfill a need for music for the high school youth group in which he was attending. After establishing and encouraging worship through music in the youth group, he was then offered opportunities to lead the entire congregation in music. Jacob then was given the opportunity to gather a diverse background in music styles and heart for leading people into worship through song after spending time in a variety of churches throughout his undergraduate and post-graduate schooling. He has had the joy of serving underneath the role of campus worship leader for Cornerstone since 2015.
“It’s humbling to know my role is not merely to lead people through a set of songs, but to use music to point a group of people coming from all different situations of life to the person and work of Jesus. It’s a joy and my prayer to help people see Jesus more clearly and engage with Him more intimately.”

Sandy Nass, Children's Ministry Director, Eldridge Campus
Sandy grew up in Iowa and graduated from the University of Iowa where she had freshman rhetoric with a fun-loving girl named Heidi. After a spring break trip to Ft. After fourteen years of Florida sun, three kids (Caitlyn, Abby, and Connor), and an introduction to Jesus Christ, God brought Sandy and Steffan back to Iowa and to Cornerstone.
Sandy became Cornerstone’s Director of Children’s Ministries in 2012, and her passion is ‘…to tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD…’ (Psalm 78:4).
Sandy and Steffan completed their family by adopting brothers David and Francis in 2013.
Sandy loves to spend time with her family and friends. Steffan recently retired from his 3rd career and continues to teach a dual-enrollment class at North Scott High School. Their daughter Caitlyn lives in Denver, CO and is pursuing a career as a Registered Dietician. Daughter Abby manages a home for kids with special needs in Portland, OR. Son Connor is pursuing his bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Son David works full-time in Davenport, IA.
