None of us can truly remain where we are.  We are either becoming more like Jesus or less like Him.  We are becoming more like the world or less like the world.  There is no stagnant state.  Left alone to ourselves we would go down the path of the world. But being fully surrendered to God can result in becoming an amazing person, and experiencing an amazing life.  This passage looks at a man who did not want to follow the ways of the world, but rather, wanted to make an impact for God’s kingdom and to be blessed in all that he did.
