The mystery Paul is writing about here in Ephesians is the mystery that gentiles believers become part of Israel. This teaching would have been abhorrent to 1st Century Jews. Yet it is what the Gospel is all about, accepting Christ’s work on the cross as sufficient for our salvation. There’s a mystery to life and we need to embrace that fact. We can’t know everything as God only reveals what we need to know when we need to know it.
