Children’s Ministry Update

July 2023

Happy Summer, Cornerstone!

Here are updates on things that have been going on in Cornerstone Kids:

Cornerstone’s TeamKID 5th & 6th graders (twenty kids!) hosted Compassion Sunday on April 30th along with 1307 other churches around the globe.  Cornerstone sponsored twelve kids and an additional 5612 kids sponsored around the world which means ALL those kids will be introduced to the life-saving love of Jesus Christ and will be provided with their most basic needs of food, medical care, and education.  Well done 5th and 6th grades and Cornerstone!

VBS 2023 was held June 5-9.  We had 289 kids registered with an average of 245 attending each day.

Of the elementary-age kids, 66 wanted to speak to an adult during Bible time to hear more about Jesus. Of those, 41 prayed to trust Jesus as Savior. The youth group held ‘Step Up’ night during the week for kids going into 7th grade this fall. They had the biggest turnout ever, 30+ kids were there and will hopefully transition into youth group this fall. We had 100+ volunteers serve each day – always with smiles and great attitudes!  Plus, we raised $3667.92 for food for Kenya. So many praises!  As always, I am so blessed to see the church come together with all its various gifts and talents on display to bring glory to God and to advance His kingdom.

Please pray for the kids who trusted in Jesus – that the Holy Spirit Himself will disciple them, that those who don’t have a church home will find one (hopefully, Cornerstone), and that those 30+ 7th graders will participate in the jr. high activities that are planned for the summer and will join our youth group this fall.

Thank you, Cornerstone for being disciple-makers with a desire to make disciples! May all the seeds of faith that were planted grow into an abundant harvest for the Kingdom. He is worthy!

A few other things:

1) The kids’ books that used to be in the library are available in the kids’ hallway upstairs for kids and families to borrow.  There’s no need to check them out; simply take them and return them when you’re finished.

2) If you are looking for some family discipleship resources, check out: famtime.com

3) Put July 19, 6:30-7:30 pm on your kids’ calendars.  Cornerstone will be hosting a pottery party with The Potter’s Delight. More details and sign-ups will follow via email.

4) TeamKID, our Wednesday night kids’ program (for K-4th grades) online registration will start August 1st along with registration for something NEW on Wednesday nights for our 5th & 6th graders.  Details will follow!

Enjoy the rest of your summer!  And may God continue to bless us as we raise the coming generation to know Him.
